Our Story.

Amy Baker, Founder and President of Tails of Hope WI, established the organization in 2019 after she was diagnosed with stage four metastatic melanoma. The helplessness she felt in the first few months after her diagnosis inspired her to make a difference—to help animals out there who cannot help themselves. After a few years of fostering for other rescue groups, Amy decided to start her own non-profit, and Tails of Hope WI was born.

We help animals who are in need by placing them in a loving foster home, providing medical care, and finding the perfect home for that animal to live in for the rest of its life. Tails of Hope takes mainly dogs, but has occasionally helped other animals in need. We take animals in through shelters and other rescue organizations, as strays, or as owner surrenders from people in our local communities.
